A small area of pyoderma in the side of a finger. A small area of pyoderma in the side of a finger. The epidermolytic rim is typical to a skin infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus, growing in the bacterial culture also in this case. Topical antibiotics are usually effective in limited bacterial skin infection.
